ASciNA (Austrian Scientists & Scholars in North America) is a network of Austrian scientists and scholars in North America, including the USA, Canada, and Mexico. ASciNA provides information, career resources, and support in navigating aca-demic or professional challenges. This includes connecting with mentors, raising the profile of Austrian research and innovation, and encouraging the exchange of ideas and best prac-tices between Austrian researchers and the broader North American scientific community. ASciNA also organizes local events in its chapters, webinars, and conferences to share expe-riences and inform their community.
EURAXESS North America
EURAXESS North America links researchers in North America with the European Research Area. It provides free infor-mation and hosts events on research funding, research careers and collaboration opportunities with Europe — discover more about this research community!
Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation

The Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation plays a key role in academic exchange between Austria and the United States. Since its establishment, the Foundation has awarded over 1,300 fellowships (as of 2024). 90% of Austrian students pursuing technical or scientific studies in the U.S. benefit from its scholarships, gaining access to world-class education and research at top universities like MIT, Harvard, and Stanford. The Foundation goes beyond mobility programs: it funds professorships, supports joint research, and organizes high-level conferences, symposia, and publications. Its mission is to strengthen transatlantic relations, foster innovation, and promote knowledge exchange in technical, natural, and economic sciences.
In cooperation with over 30 Austrian universities and all major U.S. institutions, the Foundation addresses global challenges such as climate change, health, digitalization, and democratic values through international cooperation.
In summary, the tasks include:
- Awarding approximately 100 fellowships annually to Austrian and American students and researchers.
- Supporting (guest) professorships in the U.S. and Austria.
- Organizing conferences, lectures, and symposia.
- Publishing academic works.
