Philipp Schwartz and Inspireurope Stakeholder Forum

The 2021 Stakeholder Forum will be jointly convened by Inspireurope and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s Philipp Schwartz Initiative. It will bring together up to 400 scholars, host institutions, and partner organisations across Europe to discuss topics related to the protection of academic freedom and the support of researchers at risk.

Acknowledging the growing pressures on academic freedom in regions across the globe, the 2021 Philipp Schwartz and Inspireurope Stakeholder Forum will highlight the state of academic freedom in Belarus, Brazil, Turkey and elsewhere. It will reflect on the situation and the work of displaced scholars who have found refuge in other countries and highlight the work underway in Europe to support at-risk academics and to strengthen academic freedom. It will also look back at the first five years of the Philipp Schwartz Initiative.
