REBECA by EURAXESS mentoring programme. Call open for mentors

Rebeca mentoring programme

REBECA by EURAXESS (REsearchers BEyond aCAdemia) is a mentoring programme for researchers who want to explore careers beyond the academic research pathway. Building on the success of previous editions, our primary goal remains unchanged: to expand the horizons of early career researchers, providing them with exposure to diverse careers beyond academic research. We achieve this by pairing professionals working in non-academic fields with these emerging researchers.

Who Can Be a Mentor? Mentors are professionals engaged in R&D-related activities who are willing to altruistically share their industry knowledge, insights into their profession, and, for those who transitioned from academia, their experiences in diversifying their careers. No prior mentoring experience is necessary. Our mentors represent a broad spectrum of society, encompassing the private, third, and public sectors. We also extend a warm welcome to professionals working in academic institutions, particularly research managers, the only prerequisite is that they do not perform academic research or teaching activities.

Applications to join the programme as mentors can be submitted until 5 November.

This edition of the program retains its cross-border EURAXESS nature, making it accessible to mentors and mentees across European countries and associated members. Despite its international scope, we aim to maintain a balanced representation of participants. We will select three mentees for every one mentor from the same country of residence. Additionally, we are limiting worldwide participation to no more than 20% of the total mentee pool.

By joining the REBECA by EURAXESS mentoring program, you have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of early career researchers and help them explore a world of possibilities outside the academic path.

REBECA by EURAXESS mentoring programme is one of the activities of the Researchers Beyond Academia Hub, and is funded by EU ERA Talent project.
